Lucena Church Inaugural Service: A Dawn of Hope to the Quezonians
Being born and raised in Quezon province, the juncture I mounted up from the water of baptism then had my being integrated to the Lordship of Jesus, had hope sprouted in me that someday our church would there be planted.
Since then, I envisaged Quezonians worshiping GOD as well, in absolute and authentic gist of it. With that, stemmed a dream in me: to have a true church of Jesus in Quezon. A vision affixed with a prayer, not only I that entreated it to GOD, but the rest of the Quezon-converts as well, not to mention the very rationale (evangelize the entire Philippines) of the original missionaries, which had been prayed even before they have set foot in the Philippine soil.
Then came September 18, 2011, the Lucena Church Inaugural Service at Lucena City; a momentous event I could only marvel at, a vision now real and in operation. A dream brought about at my very eyes, was a weird and wonderful feeling. I was elated inasmuch as the gleam in the eyes and beam with undisguised joy of the disciples who were there.
The ushers of familiar faces gave us a rapturous welcome. Flocking around were disciples hugging and chatting cheek by jowl with each other. Was then a microcosm of a congregational service, whereby almost all MMCC sectors were pretty well-represented, along with the backing of some provincial churches: Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and as far as Dagupan. Through doing, the solidarity of the church as a whole was ascertained that time.
350 seats were stationed at Bulwagan Kalilayan, of the upshot was that it was packed with almost 400 attendees! Of which 91 visitors from the local community attended, it could only be because of GOD!
Instigated with 9 passionately zealous missionaries, only few, a small number yet unmatched with the potent strength of their hearts; the Lucena church to date has 2 baptisms and 15 bible studies.
The inauguration flared the crack of dawn; the beacon that shall convey the Light to the lost souls in much need of it at Quezon, at that point shall then my family, relatives and “kababayans” be hearing the good news about Jesus, sooner than just used to be a dream. I thank GOD.
“my God turns my darkness into light.” - Psalm 18:28
