Lucena Mission

We have all been waiting for a church planting. And so after much hoping and praying, the Metro Manila Christian Church sent-off nine (9) missionaries to Lucena City, province of Quezon last June 12, 2011 during the Campus Congregational Worship. The team is led by Rolly & Marie Pasoquen, former leaders of Dagupan &  Baguio Church and together with the couple  are Jesse & MJ Valdez of QC  Region,  Renda Merano of MDS, Gladys  Masilungan of Laguna Church,  Fred Parina, Frecie Milan & Diane Fernandez of CMR.

The team already had its first taste of victory with the first baptism last June 19, Father’s Day. Mommy Conching Merano, the 64 –year old widowed mother of Renda (one of the missionaries) was baptized in the presence of her children and grandchildren. Mommy Conching is an incredible mother to 13 children. She has 20 grandkids and already has 4 great grandchildren.  Mommy’s 3 sons, 2 daughters and 2 daughters-in-law are already studying the Bible.

Mommy Conching and Renda did their testimony together during the church’s first Bring Your Neighbor Day (BYND) last July 17. They bought 20 of their family members and friends to church! What a great tandem! The BYND was well supported by the presence of Manila disciples led by Ariel and Susan Lastrado as overseers of Lucena Church.

As of this writing, 19 friends and family members are studying the Bible. Three of them are from Mauban, Quezon, the satellite ministry. The church is excited to welcome Manila disciples visiting on missionary journeys to help with evangelism and Bible studies as well as in preparation for the upcoming Inaugural Celebration on September 18 with our brother Koko Enrile preaching the Word. To God be the glory!
